Congratulations to Felix and Kate

Today is a very special day for a very special Allstar. Our very own Felix Haddow-Allen is marrying the lovely Kate, making him the luckiest man alive, and breaking hearts all over London and the South-East.

I’m sure that all of our readers will want to wish Felix and Kate the all the best for a long and happy life together.

Poll: the 2011 Tour

As promised, on the right hand side of this page you will see a poll where you can vote for your favoured destination for the Allstars’ overseas tour in 2011. Just because you don’t usually tour, or won’t be touring in 2011, shouldn’t stop you from voting — after all, Maxie’s not going to take any notice of this anyway.

If you do vote for “Other”, please say where in the comments section below.

2010 Awards Dinner announced!

UPDATE: the Dinner has now been postponed until a date TBA.

This year’s end of season dinner will be on Friday 26th November, at the Red Lion in St James. It will be a celebration of a hugely successful season, to which all and sundry and their WAGs are invited and very welcome.

The format will be similar to recent years – actually more of an informal buffet than a dinner, in a function room above a pub. For those new to the Club, it’s the evening when we gather for a few beers and some food (about £10 a head) to mark the end of the season, and present awards to the five Allstars Of The Year for their contribution either on- or off-field.

Nominations are now open for the Allstars of the year. Awards can be given for any reason, so please email your suggestions to Maxie.

Please also email Maxie to indicate whether you will be coming and whom else you will be bringing (we need a fairly accurate indication of numbers).

See you there!

Where shall we Tour in 2011?

Belfast, Minorca, Ljubljana, Oporto, Malta, Ibiza, the Dordogne… What’s next in this sequence?

Please suggest, by way of comment below, where you think the Allstars should go on Tour in 2011. If we get enough suggestions, I’ll start a poll on this blog, allowing everyone to vote for their preferred venue.

Our benign dictator Maxie will take your suggestions carefully into consideration before making a decision in his own absolute discretion.

Personally, I’d like to go somewhere hot, where we can go swimming in the pool after playing cricket. All our Mediterranean tours have been successful, so why tamper with a classic? Do you agree? Comment below!

NOTE: The title of this post originally referred to 2012. That’s not because we are not touring in 2011. It was because I am an idiot.
