Our game against Heartaches on 20th June is to be played at Ascott Park in Buckinghamshire: a ground which has its own page on cricinfo. It’s perhaps not as detailed as the page for Lords, but surely it will be given a major overhaul once it has become an Allstars venue.
Will this be the first time the Allstars have played at a ground featured on cricinfo?
The venue is Great Haseley CC in Oxfordshire. From London, take the M40 and leave at J7. Turn left onto the A329 and take the first left towards Great Haseley on Thame Road. As you enter the village, turn left just before the first house on the same side and go 1/3 mile along track into the ground.
The postcode is OX44 7JF.
Meet 1pm for a 1.30pm start. If we’re there early, or it rains, we’ll be in the Plough pub in the village.
Last Sunday, 9th May, our match against St John’s College, Oxford was, rather regrettably, called off. The opposition withdrew at the last minute, due to lack of numbers.
This Saturday we are again scheduled to be in Oxfordshire, as we have hired a village ground there for our home match against Gentleman’s Relish. We are still looking for a couple of extra players, so if you can make it, please let me know. Lifts are available.

Also, here’s a significant date for your diary – Sunday 29th August: this year’s Allstars Festival. The Festival is one of the major events in our calendar – it’s our club match and family day, and if you can only make it along a few times a year, this one is a must.
Can we get this guy to play for us against St John’s?
Actually, despite what it says in the post below, the cricketing highlight of 2010 is the Allstars Tour to Bergerac. Our annual overseas tour is one of the key events of the season. The cricket is not taken terribly seriously, there’s lots of banter and fun, and overall it’s heartily recommended.
It should be a slightly more laid back tour than some, in very civilised surroundings, with the cricket played at attractive rural grounds.
In terms of costs, the flights will be about £130. It is also possible to drive there. The hotel will be about 32 Euros per night if sharing a twin room. As the matches aren’t till Saturday, it’s perfectly feasible for you not to come till the Friday if you wish.
